If you are unemployed and live in New York City, your job search might soon come to an end.
This year some high paying jobs have surfaced on the web that paid pretty big to use social media tools such as blogs, facebook, twitter, etc. Two that got quite a bit of buzz were A Really Goode Job from Murphy Winery and 67 Days of Work from Orlando Tourism Bureau. Now Procter & Gamble has kicked off another social media related job for their toilet paper Charmin.
The job is pretty simple. Here are the details of the jobs :
Title : Charmin Ambassador (sounds cool and high profile job. However, it means you will be a restroom attendant at a public restroom)
Job Description : If you enjoy going to the bathroom you are eligible to enter. All you got to do is greet people who come to the restroom, and probably ask them if they enjoy the charmin toilet paper after they are done doing the deed. Of course, you have to update facebook, tweet and blog about your experience and use different social media tools.
Job Duration : Nov. 23 – Dec. 31, 2009.
Salary : $10,000
Location : You will be working as a “Charmin Ambassador” at Times Square, NYC public restrooms.
How To Apply : You can apply for the job at the Hilton on 53rd Street and 6th Avenue between 10am and 6pm on November 5th, 2009.
Many companies are starting to use this form of marketing. Are they spending their money wisely? It depends. In this case, they are probably getting more return on their investment by spending $10,000. If they were to buy a TV spot or put a banner up it would probably cost them more. This $10,000 gives them more visibility and when some lucky candidate lands the “Charmin Ambassador” job they are going to blog, tweet and update etc. all through marketing platforms that are free.
Let us know what you think? Ohh and if you live in NYC let us know if you are planning on applying
