A lot of careers just take a lot of hard work and dedication to become successful. But there are some career choices that, in order to be successful, take some thinking outside the box on.

People that are successful in the following careers are people that are leading and changing the field themselves. They are creating new ground and leading the way for others to follow.

These 5 careers all involve being creative and innovative. They are constantly changing and growing. You can be in these careers and just get by and go along for the ride. But in order to be truly successful you will have to be innovative and think outside the box.

Online Marketing

More and more people are leaning towards making money from home these days. One of the biggest ways to make a living online is online marketing.

There are typically two types of people that make a career in online marketing. There are some that reach rock start status and are well known across the online marketing world. All the while raking in millions of dollars. And then there are others who are not well known but are still making a quiet fortune.

But to truly succeed with the fast paced world of online marketing, you have to be innovative. Whether it’s designing new applications to help the process or finding new ways to market, the people that are ahead of the pack think outside the box. They are the ones that come up with the new innovations and ideas.

Not only that, but someone that has never been into marketing will have to think outside of their own box as well to become successful with this career.

Conservationist

People are becoming more aware of conserving the earth everyday. Most of that is due to innovative people in this field. Especially when it comes to creating products that are safer for the environment.

Products such as solar panels and wind power were very innovative for their time and they are still being used today. There are plenty of problems that will take some thinking outside of the box to solve.

The trick is coming up with something that helps the environment and pleases people at the same time.

Musician

Music is an integral part of everyday life for most people. It’s been around a very long time. And it’s constantly evolving and changing. The music today is a lot different then it was 20, 30, or 50 years ago.

It’s a very fluid, changing career and one that people are getting into everyday. With so many people coming out with music all the time, you have to think outside the box to be successful in this field of work.

A good majority of bands sound the same as everyone else and are mediocre at best. But the true innovators of music are the ones who create work that is new and fresh. Even if it’s based off of other music.

You really have to stand out somehow to make it as a musician. People that create new, popular music are the ones that reach “rock star” status.

Game Designer

Games are now on par with movies as an entertainment medium. It’s much more accepted then it used to be. It’s become mainstream.

A lot of that is from people that have come up with innovative ideas that have made an impact on gamers and general society alike. Gameplay elements and a realism that rivals some movies is what is leading the way.

In order to create something that really stands out amongst the crowd you have to think outside the box.

The latest example is the Nintendo Wii which went in a completely different direction then the other new consoles. It aimed at becoming a family gaming machine and has brought in people that never used to play games at all.

Inventor

It goes without saying that to become a successful inventor you have to think outside the box. This is one career that is all about thinking outside the box and being innovative. Otherwise you won’t reach any level of success.

Thanks to people in this field that some of the things we use today are from people that made something great. Coming up with new ideas takes a lot of dedication and innovation but can be very rewarding.
