Job hunters definitely qualify as people on the go as they are constantly knocking on the door to land a job. Well, not exactly but having a phone that can almost duplicate what your laptop can do for you in terms of job search is certainly a good deal. After looking around on the web and trying some ourselves, we thought of compiling a massive list of iPhone apps for job hunters, however, most seem to do the same thing so we narrowed the list down to five. If you are an iPhone user who happens to be doing the toughest job in this economy (hunting for jobs), check out these apps which are sure to help.
1. LinkedIn : As most of you already know we are big on LinkedIn here at applicant.com. Obviously, LinkedIn is the first on the list. With this app you will be able to stay connected with your contacts and also check on job postings on LinkedIn. A must have if you are an iPhone user and also happen to be looking for jobs.
2. CareerBuilder : CareerBuilder is one of the most popular job search sites and it also happens to be a popular app among job hunters. Next time while the person ahead of you takes forever to check out their grocery, you can conveniently search for jobs instead of picking up a gossip magazine.
3. beamME CV : This an extremely useful app and is a little expensive compared to other apps. It costs $9.99 to download this app. However, price is reasonable for the function it provides. It allows you to create your own virtual business card and lets you upload your professional resume. Having a professional resume ready to go while you are sitting in the cab without having to bust out the laptop is definitely a win win for job hunters.
4. JobCompass : Imagine having a compass with you at all times that would let you find job openings that are closes to where you are at. This app does exactly that. It uses iPhone’s location feature and finds jobs that are closest to you. You can get information about hiring manager, phone number and email related to the job opening so you can contact right away. If you prefer to knock on the door and grab a job application, that shouldn’t be a problem either since the jobs shown through this apps are closer to you.
5. Craigster : If you are into Craigslist whether for shopping or for job searching, Craigster is a full featured app that brings Craigslist at your service while on the go. This app allows you to search for city specific jobs. Definitely a must have if you like searching for jobs on Craigslist and also happen to be an iPhone user.
